American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Course prepares you to teach people of all ages and abilities to swim and be safe in, on, and around water. Must attend all classes.
PREREQUISITES: 25-yard front crawl, backcrawl, breaststroke, sidestroke, elementary backstroke, 15 yards butterfly, 1-minute tread, and back float. All strokes must be performed at a Level 4 skill level.

This class is for currently certified lifeguards who are seeking advanced training to train prospective lifeguards. Must hold a current American Red Cross lifeguard certification.

In collaboration with acclaimed Florida landscape artist, Hugh O'Neill, learn to create a strong, vibrant painting around the surrounding beauty of Palm Beach Gardens. This series of four lessons takes place in various shaded city parks for all levels and mediums. No experience required! There will be demonstrations and individual instruction. Discover the secrets of a great painting! Most supplies are included at the location such as oil & acrylic paint, brushes, canvas board and easel. Watercolor supplies are not provided. Learn the basics of cookie decorating and how to decorate sugar cookies with Royal Icing. Basic techniques include flooding, piping and wet on wet, etc. Decorating utensils will be provided for use in class and all materials are included. No prior experience needed! Each attendee will leave with the knowledge and confidence to decorate a set of 3 different designs. You will take home your tasty creations to show and savor with your loved ones. Learn how to make delicious buttercream frosting and add coloring to the frosting to achieve a variation of shades. Each student will decorate a total of 6 cupcakes with 3 different floral designs. We will assemble the couplers in piping bags and work with a variety of piping tips to create various floral designs! A favorite of skilled players with limited time. People of various levels play, including some very strong competitors. Formats take ability level into account. Tournaments are held as singles and mixed. Singles are usually played as a ladder, with both women and men placed in the continuum according to ability for 3 matches in an abbreviated format. Our one-day mixed doubles tournaments are usually contested in ability-based multi-round compass draws with 3 matches in an abbreviated format.

The perfect class for those new to tennis. Instruction will focus on crucial tennis techniques such as grip, and basic stroke development. Each week skills will be revisited, and new skills introduced.

If you’ve got the basics down but are looking to take those skills to the next level, this is the class for you. Basics are reviewed briefly in each class. In addition, our instructors will work with you to add elements like speed, power, and accuracy to your game. Additional shots are taught, lob, volley, overhead. Instructors will also discuss gameplay strategies like court positioning, shot location, basic tactics, and "Live Ball” point play is incorporated.

For players beyond beginner level. Each session will work on fine-tuning basic skills and strokes. Serve and footwork will be instructed. "Live Ball” rallying between players is introduced.

A certified senior specialist through NASM, Diane will lead you through exercises in a proprioceptively enriched environment to train muscular control. Welcome to a cardio-strengthening, muscle-toning, low impact full body workout to propel you toward your fitness goals. Led by a certified personal trainer and wellness coach, every workout and exercise are modifiable to meet your individual needs. First time participants and those with limitations should arrive 10 minutes early for class. Bring your own mat and let us coach you to success! Two-day adult pickleball camps are designed for all players and all levels. Our pickleball camps are the perfect place to sharpen your skills while working on your strokes and growing your knowledge of the game. Lunch is included in this 5-hour day.

Each month our certified instructors will lead clinics with a hyper focus on specific skills and strokes. If there’s an aspect of your game that needs work, these are the classes for you. Each session will end with live-ball gameplay to apply the skills addressed.

Join us for a day of fun at Harrah’s Casino in Pompano Beach! Registration includes transportation and a complimentary $15 free play card. Participants will meet at the Mirasol Center, 12385 Jog Road, 33418 at 10:00am to depart and will be returning at 3:00pm.

Candidates successfully completing the class will be certified in Lifeguarding, Standard First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Attendance at all classes is required.

Prerequisites for the course must be completed in advance, by appointment only. Please email aquainfo@pbgfl.com immediately upon registration to schedule your appointment.

Prerequisites: Must be able to swim a total of 300 yards demonstrating freestyle and breaststroke. Must be able to swim 20 yards, submerge and retrieve a 10 lb brick, return to the surface, and swim 20 yards back to the starting point within 1 minute and 40 seconds. Must be able to tread water without the use of hands for 2 minutes. (Lower Prerequisites can be applied to Shallow Water Lifeguard or Aquatic Attraction Lifeguard)
